John teaches at several universities in the Kansai area. He also runs a publishing company, Oak Hills Press, which partners with independent authors helping to bring their textbooks to market. John is the author of The English Gym and The English Gym II, written under the pen name, Jon Charles. He has recently created The English Gym Digital Workbook on the Zengengo platform.

I am a special lecturer at the University of Shizuoka in Shizuoka, Japan. I am active in several international educational organizations, volunteer at conferences, and work as the JALT PSG Research Coordinator. Research interests include assessment and TBLT.
