The University Students’ Overview in the Virtual Listening Class

This study aimed to see the difficulties and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on a virtual listening class, and the students’ experiences in the listening class at the university level who are living in a rural area in Indonesia.

    Kurniawan is a lecturer in the English Education Department of Universitas Lancang Kuning Pekanbaru Indonesia. He did his undergraduate studies in English literature at Universitas Andalas Padang and completed graduate studies in English education at Universitas Negeri Padang Indonesia. He is a doctoral student at Universitas Negeri Padang Indonesia. He has been teaching English in Indonesia at the university level for over 20 years. He is actively involved in TEFLIN at the Riau Province and Riau Island Province chapters and serves as the coordinator of TEFLIN in those provinces. He is also the coordinator of the Language Center Association of Western Indonesia. His interests are mostly in listening, TELL/CALL, teachers' professional development, content, and project-based learning. He has presented some of his papers at international EFL conferences since 2008, such as AsiaTEFL, AsiaCall, TEFLIN, JALT, etc.
