About

I am a writer and an associate professor of Global Studies/English at Naruto University of Education. My research interests include creative writing, literature in language teaching, disability, and women's studies. I have written two books for EFL/ESL learners and emerging readers -- A GIRLS' GUIDE TO THE ISLANDS and THE SPY. In addition, I have written several novels, including most recently, THE BASEBALL WIDOW, and a memoir, SQUEAKY WHEELS, which addresses accessibility issues in Japan and other countries.
